Armed robbery: Man shot at home

Police investigate an incident of attempted murder.

Douglasdale Police are investigating incidents of armed robbery and attempted murder after a man was shot in his home on 6 February.

Three armed suspects allegedly stormed the home in Church Street around 12:30am. “The husband heard a noise and went out to investigate,” explained police spokesperson Warrant Officer Balan Muthan.

According to the police, the wife who was still inside the house when she heard a gunshot. The suspects allegedly entered the house, took her jewellery and fled the scene.

“The victim was taken to Netcare Olivedale Hospital and is recovering,” said WO Muthan.
