STRYDOM PARK – Business owners have agreed to form an association that will clean up litter along CR Swart Road and Fabriek Street.
At a meeting held with Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood on 13 February, they agreed on the objective of the non-profit company, which would be known as the Strydom Park Ratepayers Association.

“Our priorities will be to clear up the litter and the green belts as a start. We want to work closely and possibly partner with the taxi associations to formalise the ranks,” said business owner, Karolynn van Vuuren.

She said they would work with taxi associations to provide ablution facilities and to ensure the ranks had management structures in place.

“The informal traders will also be addressed, together with the informal recyclers. Our aim is to see Strydom Park transform into one of the best industrial areas in Joburg,” she said.

Once the association is established, business owners will be asked to join and contribute a monthly levy.

“If businesses and residents want to get involved and become members of the association, they can contact me,” she said.
