The Randburg Square is encouraging members of the public to continue donating their pre-loved shoes at the shopping centre in a Walk in their Shoes campaign.

The campaign is a shoe collection drive which is carried out for one month at the shopping centre. This initiative commenced on 23 March and will end on 23 April.

This year the centre has partnered with Randburg Boston City Campus and Business College and a non-profit organisation, Imvuno Enhle (Beautiful harvest) for their corporate social investment campaign.

Imvuno Enhle is a NPO advocating for social justice with the main objectives of contributing towards educational needs and career guidance.

It provides assistance to initiatives established to further the plight of the abused, vulnerable and less fortunate. The organisation also embarks on random initiatives such as the annual winter blanket drives. It is currently funded by members as well as friends and family.

Donors of shoes stand a chance to win one of three R20 000 bursaries from Boston College. For every pair of shoes they donate, they are entered into the competition.

Donors can drop off their pair of shoes at shop 504 on level 5 in Randburg Square.

The centre’s marketing manager Rosanela Pierce said the initiative would go a long way to help disadvantaged people and those who could not afford to buy shoes.

She added that Imvuno Enhle would help them identify people who genuinely needed shoes and help distribute them to those beneficiaries.

“We are encouraging people to donate their shoes as it will help make a positive impact on someone’s life,” she said.

Dean Merwe of Imvuno Enhle said, “Your shoes can change someone’s life for the better.”

Residents who want to enter can drop off their shoes at shop 504 on level 5.
