ICYMI: Fikile Mbalula resigns as ANC Member of Parliament

The office of the African National Congress (ANC) has confirmed that the former Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, has tendered his resignation as an ANC Member of Parliament in the National Assembly. He officially resigned on 26 February – the day of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet reshuffle – although the news was only officially announced today, 9 March.

Mbalula will continue serving as the ANC’s head of elections for the 2019 General Elections campaign and will thus be based at the ANC’s headquarters, Luthuli House.
