King David Primary School hosted three consecutive sold-out shows of their Oliver Twist production.

The school is very proud of all the youngsters who put together three, memorable, sold-out shows. The school hosted parents, friends and family to experience their performance of the classic musical. The shows included over 120 children from grades 4 to 7 who were responsible for the whole production. They were tasked with not only the onstage duties but also backstage for sound and lighting.

On show nights the audience took to their seats with anticipation and excitement as the lights in the hall began to dim. Nirvana Rogers of King David described the show, “Streams of tiny children began to pace down the aisles of the hall towards the stage delivering their best performance of Food glorious food, Pick a pocket, Oom pah pah! and other classics from the beloved musical.”

The scenes and songs had the crowd cheering in enjoyment. In addition to the music, the audience was treated to delightful period costumes, a gorgeous set and some epic voices.

Rogers stated that a lot went into delivering such a spectacular show. “Many weeks went into the preparation for this play, with staff and students spending many long hours practising, painting sets and preparing decor.”

He said a special appreciation goes to the school’s head of music at the school, Mr Andrew Edgar, is due as he guided the whole production from start to end.
