The Randburg Police Station has enjoyed a significant drop in the rate of attempted murders during the 2017/2018 policing year.

The result comes from the police and Statistics South Africa’s published crime statistics for this year on 11 September.

During the 2017/2018 policing year, the Randburg police saw 12 incidents of attempted murder reported, which is a 60 per cent drop in reports when compared to the 30 incidents reported during the 2016/2017 policing year.

Reports of murder remained the same as the previous year with seven incidents reported this policing year and the last.

The Randburg Sun is awaiting comment from the Randburg Police Station.
