A pedestrian was run down by a minibus taxi who was driving on the wrong side of Olive Road on 8 October.
Sharonlea CPF Sector 1 chairperson, Des Pillay, who was on the scene of the incident said, “A man was hit by a taxi that was driving on the oncoming lane. The taxi driver did stop and waited for the police to arrive.”
Pillay said that emergency management services and the police arrived promptly on the scene. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera and was shared with the community.
According to Pillay, the pedestrian survived the accident and is currently being treated in hospital.
